Waukesha Antique Mall

What a horrible, racist store. They have a minstrel display at the very front of their store with, among other horrifically racist items, a $1,425 picture of black people picking cotton. The sign in the booth, clearly responding to much criticism, claims the items are there to preserve history. What that sign fails to disclose is that the seller, and this mall, are still making a profit on these items - they are profiting off people’s pain. When I raised my concerns to the store owner (or employee, I could not tell), she apologized but did nothing to reassure me that this booth and these horrible objects would be taken down. If they wanted to preserve history, they would give these items, for free, to a museum. Instead, the mall and the seller seek to turn a profit off America’s sordid history and black peoples’ enslavement, with anyone, including white supremacists, able to purchase the items to display in their homes.

Be aware before visiting: this mall permits vendors to sell highly offensive Jim Crow-era memorabilia, including blackface items and Mammy caricatures. This isn't displayed as historical education, but as commercial inventory. It was incredibly uncomfortable to see on display, and management clearly condones it. I will not be returning.

A very nice antique mall, chock full of good vendors with a wide variety of legit vintage and antique items. Booths are lined up in an organized fashion so you can shop without missing anything. Due to the decent size there is a little product repetition and some prices are on the higher side of normal, but, there are still some really good deals and some unique pieces that are worth the extra. The reps working on this day were cordial and professional. I left some good deals behind...so I will be back asap.

I’ve passed this place up a hundred times and completely forgotten about it. I’m so glad I finally remembered to take a trip. Stopped in today and had so much fun! Absolutely gigantic selection of just about anything you can think of. A little on the busy side but worth it! Will absolutely be back in the future.

Definitely a huge place, with a wide variety of things. For me personally it wouldn’t be my go to because I love vintage soda advertising. That’s my sole reason for going to antique stores. There are some things here but they’re all fairly common things. It would be nice to see some vintage coke or Pepsi signs :)
